Mohammad Hossein Mozaffari said: “Always in working with metal, the texture is important for me.”
The exhibition of Mohammad Hossein Mozaffari's sculptures is showcasing in the Golestan Gallery. Mozaffari has exhibited works based on Bahman Mohasses's paintings. Mozaffari, in an interview with Honar Online, described the formation of this collection: " A few years ago, I was very impressed by Bahman Mohasses's paintings and I had a book of his works that always looked at it. But in the last few years I did not look at this book; Nevertheless, the sculptures I created were similar to those of the works, and my friends said that my sculptures are similar to the Mohasses’s paintings”.
Mozaffari continued, "I did not intend to simulate Mohasses' works but automatically, because of my interest, this similarity was created in my works”.
Goats, bottles, and fish are the subjects of my works, which can be seen in Mohasses’s artworks as well.
Even the subjects, such as fish and bottles, were not considered in the works of artists before Mohasses. But the choice of the bottle in my works, was because I am originally from Bushehr and there, we see lots of bottles on the water.
He also added: “The materials used in these works are mainly iron, bronze and resin. I have been working on this collection for two years and for some of them, I have designed a lot.
But during making sculptures, I did not pay attention to those designs and I just make what I was thinking about at the moment!
I had not even decided beforehand that I was going to make a fish or a bottle, and the shape of the sculptures was featured during the work.
This self-taught artist said: " Always in working with metal, the texture was important for me, and I felt that the texture would make the sculptures alive. There are also harsh textures in these works, and audiences were very interested in them.”
Mozaffari continued, "I do not have any art education, but I have lots of studies in this field and I have participated in several group exhibitions.”
During my career, I have created works inspired by my living area and I have also built a few urban elements that are installed in Shiraz.
It is worth mentioning that the exhibition of Mohammad Hossein Mozaffari's sculptures will be open until May 9th at Golestan Gallery, No. 34, Bagheri Kasmaei Street, Darous street.
